Role Overview – Quality Assurance Intern
As a Quality Assurance Intern, you will be part of the QA team responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of upGrad’s web and mobile platforms. You will work on real-time projects involving test case design, execution, bug tracking, and collaboration with developers.
This role is well-suited for candidates who want to build a strong foundation in manual testing and gain exposure to industry-standard QA practices.
Key Responsibilities
Requirement Analysis
Understand business requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria before designing test cases.
Test Case Design and Execution
Create detailed test cases covering functional, regression, and edge-case scenarios. Execute tests across web and mobile applications.
Defect Logging and Tracking
Identify bugs and log them with detailed reproduction steps using tools like JIRA. Track issues until closure.
Bug Validation and Re-testing
Verify fixes implemented by developers and perform regression testing to ensure stability.
UAT and Release Support
Assist in User Acceptance Testing cycles and support product releases by ensuring quality standards are met.
Test Data and Environment Setup
Prepare test data and configure environments for consistent and accurate testing.
Documentation and Reporting
Maintain test plans, execution reports, and QA documentation for future reference.
Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
B.E/B.Tech/BCA/B.Sc in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics & Communication, or related fields.
Batch
Candidates from the 2024, 2025, and 2026 graduating batches are eligible.
Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of manual testing concepts
- Knowledge of SDLC and STLC
- Familiarity with JIRA
- Basic programming knowledge (Java or JavaScript preferred)
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of Selenium or Playwright
- API testing using Postman
- Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodology
Communication Skills
Good verbal and written communication to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
