UNDP Internship

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is inviting applications for the position of Food and Power Initiative Intern under its Nature, Climate and Energy Practice Area. This is a 6-month, full-time, home-based internship offering meaningful exposure to global development policy, food systems transformation, and international stakeholder engagement.

Role Overview

The intern will support the Food and Power Initiative (FPI) within UNDP’s Bureau for Policy and Programme Support (BPPS). The role involves assisting with coordination, research, communications, and stakeholder engagement related to food systems transformation and power dynamics at the global level.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support organization of virtual meetings, webinars, and workshops
  • Assist with knowledge management and collaborative platforms
  • Maintain internal databases and filing systems (SharePoint, Teams, Google Docs)
  • Prepare presentations, briefing notes, and meeting summaries
  • Conduct stakeholder and partner mapping
  • Support research on food systems, donors, and funding opportunities
  • Assist with communications content, including website and social media updates

Eligibility & Qualifications

Education

  • Currently enrolled in a final-year undergraduate or graduate programme, or
  • Recent graduate (within one year)
  • Relevant fields include Sustainable Development, Environment, Agriculture, Economics, International Development, Political or Social Sciences

Experience

  • Basic experience in research, data collection, or analysis
  • Strong written communication and editing skills
  • Prior exposure to development, climate, food systems, or social change is an advantage

Language

  • Proficiency in English is required
