Research Analyst – Systemic Risks of Climate Change (Remote)

The Accelerator for Systemic Risk Assessment (ASRA) is inviting applications for a Research Analyst role focused on the systemic risks of climate change. This position will contribute to research on the global implications of exceeding the Paris Agreement’s 1.5°C temperature threshold.

Role Details

  • Location: Fully Remote
  • Engagement Type: Full-time consultancy
  • Contract Duration: Until September 2027
  • Compensation: USD 333 per day

Key Responsibilities

  • Research the systemic consequences of crossing the 1.5°C global warming threshold, including impacts on atmospheric, land, and ocean systems
  • Assess broader cascading and cross-sector risks linked to climate change
  • Produce high-quality briefing notes, research memos, and presentation materials
  • Communicate research findings to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Organize and manage references, datasets, and research documentation
  • Participate in team meetings, workshops, and stakeholder engagement activities
  • Support the design and coordination of stakeholder engagement processes
  • Contribute to additional ASRA initiatives, including network events and online engagements

Candidate Profile

  • Degree-qualified or equivalent professional experience
  • Understanding of systems thinking, risk, resilience, and systemic risk frameworks
  • Research experience in climate change or Earth System science
  • Ability to conduct primary research, including interviews and surveys
  • Experience engaging with diverse stakeholders across public, private, and community sectors
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; additional languages are an advantage
  • Proven ability to work independently in a remote and flexible environment
  • Strong organizational, reporting, and time-management skills
